  • Glade Spring Spa in Cle Elum, Washington Soothes Guests in Luxury

The Glade Spring Spa reflects nature's beauty with luxury services and pampering.  The spa designers insisted upon all decorative elements to highlight nature.  They selected #06 Ebb & Flow to nourish their guests' visual experience of the tranquil beauty. It's a delight for me to see others gaining a sense of relief from their busy lives while enjoying a luxury resort.

  • Corto Images Featured at The Weston Riverfront Resort & Spa in Avon, CO

#25 InTranced and #07 Amberosity are two images selected  to flank the Weston logo displayed behind the main reception desk at the gorgeous Riverfront Resort & Spa.  After an exhaustive search for appropriate images, Parker Blake Art Design & Consulting, selected these two.  It's the perfect setting for Corto Images to compliment the elegant and relaxed resort welcoming guests to enjoy the splendor of the Colorado Rockies.

  • Sensational Suncadia in the Eastern Cascade Mountains

My partner, Lydia, and I were exploring a new arrangement for highlighting native dry bed rock with local fauna. The green in this image is lichen from one of the trees on the river bank.  Although not all the elements are in their natural setting, #04 Suncadia combines the colorful composition of granite, local rocks and greenery. It's a visual feast for the eyes!  It's named in honor of Suncadia Resort, a new luxury haven located in Cle Elum, Washington in the Cascade Mountains, a few hours east of Seattle.  Also taken at Suncadia Resort are these four images in their natural setting:  #13 Alluring, #33 Opus#23 Rock Blossom and #10 Riverstar.

  • Greeting Cards and Bookmarks

We've had great feedback on our first four greeting cards.  So we've added two more to the collection: JemezMent and Amberosity. A box of twelve now contains 6 different images.

  • Winter's Flirtatious Forms

I love winter! Actually, I love every season but there's something especially mystifying about winter - when it's cold, the earth is frozen and nature seems to be hibernating, quiet in sleep, resting in anticipation of Spring's return.  What I've discovered is that nature is not asleep at all - in fact it's just transformed into the magical mystery of frozen shapes - alive and awake and glistening in clever forms and reflections. Check out these images of suspended animation of fluid in motion in Winter's Debut and Frozen Fire.

Then chuckle with me at water's clever improvisation with Pawcicle.

  • The Center for Fine Art Photograhy Selected Corto Images for the 2008 Macro World Exhibition

What an honor to be chosen from among artists from five countries.  I was selected by the Center for Fine Art Photography in Fort Collins to exhibit at the 2008 World Macro Exhibition.  Jamezment will be highlighted. She was taken in the natural hot springs at the Bodhi Zen Center in Jamez Springs, New Mexico.  The tones of blues and greens gurgling through the mineral rich algae seemed to harmonize with the tranquil Zen Center.  The Macro World Exhibition will be February 29 - March 22, 2008 in Fort Collins, Colorado.

  • Called to Kauai in October

In October I traveled back to Kauai which I consider to be one of the most spectacular and pristine places remaining on earth.  Its highest peak has a reputation of being the wettest place on earth only reachable by a helicopter a few times a year.  What a wonderland for me to expand the exploration of interior designs found inside moving water.  When I was last there I met #09 Grace Cascading.

Then I was in search for Grace's "cousin"!  I came upon a seeping embankment where fresh water meets the sea.  Hiding in a crevice I found #29 Aqua Bow and #27 Nature's Elixir.  One of the things I love about Nature's Elixir is the reflection of the setting sun on the droplet of water looks like a mini disco ball!

  • Hey Baby You're Playing Our Song

Two days before we launched our website, I was visited at my home by a high-speed miniature pollinator. In this shot, she appeared to be more interested in my camera then her food. With a twinkle in her eye, she was named #02 TwinkleBell.

  • Electrified Splatter of Color

I continue to experiment with a new water pattern and medium in a creek found along the Switzerland Trail near Nederland, Colorado. The sun's rays combined with the speed of the water brought forth an electrified abstract splatter of color in #23 Razzmatazz

  • Indian Creek, Montana Reveals Illusive Images

One hot summer's day in search of a waterside camp site we came into a place called Dead Indian Wilderness.  I felt the name to be quite disrespectful so I am calling the location Indian Creek.  I played in the creek capturing illusive images which came and went in the spaces found behind falling water.  #15 Alchemy and #02 Odyssey are the perfect depiction of this beautiful camp spot.

  • Magic in Magnificient Montana

On our way back from the Lazy EL Ranch we crossed a small runoff creek just outside the small town of Painter, Montana.  Something drew me to turn down a dirt access road which paralleled the creek.  As I traipsed through the forest and down the rocky embankment, I was drawn to a section of the creek that held the surprise - beautiful pink granite smoothed away by water's age-old touch.  Here I found #01 Providence and it's inner dimension #04 Inner Providence.

  • Recent Travels to Montana

WOW, what a place.  No wonder it’s called BIG SKY country.  I was invited to capture unique images that highlight the heart and soul of the Lazy EL Ranch (www.lazyel.com) which has been in the same family for over 100 years.  I had the privilege of experiencing the open land, rugged territory, majestic mountains and friendly folk while visiting the Ranch.  I captured some fresh images of water flowing through pink granite in glacial rivers and natural springs.  The colors and inner images that emerged reflected the grandeur of the area. Not only did I get what I had hoped but some of them made it in to my favorites section in my Facets of Nature collection.  One of them is #05 Masquerade. The collection of images was presented to the family in celebration of their heritage and love of the land.

  • Recent Travels to the Grand Canyon

In June I returned from my eighth trip white water rafting the Grand Canyon for 16 days. I chose not to captain a boat for the first time to dedicate my time to my photography and taking in this magical place. The images I came back with were awesome! My favorite place was a short hike on the upper part of the canyon called Clear Creek. There were so many diverse rocks and settings. I was like a kid in a candy store with not enough money to buy everything I wanted. I walked away with my favorite image so far called #01 Enchantment as a close runner-up to my all-time-favorite, #02 Delicious Ambiguity.
